This project provides a peer-to-peer alternative to centralized code hosting by replicating repositories across participating nodes so there is no single controlling entity. Developers keep full control of their data and workflows while collaborating using familiar Git primitives.

The protocol uses cryptographic identities and signed Git objects to verify authenticity and authorship, and a custom gossip layer to exchange repository metadata. Collaborative Objects (COBs) enable issues, discussions, and review flows to be represented as extendable Git objects, making the system evolvable and programmatic.

The stack is modular — offering a CLI, a web interface, a TUI, a node and an HTTP daemon — and supports a desktop client for a graphical experience. It follows a local-first philosophy, works offline, and is free and open source under permissive licenses, with guides and community channels to help users get started.
